![]() the program that's supposed to be built for animation. How is it, that it's only been two years that AE has had the ability to remap hotkeys when I've been doing it in Photoshop for like a decade? Why is it easier for me to do relatively complex flat 2D animations in C4D, than it is in After Effects? Why can't I do some of the simplest of commands like copy and paste keyframes on multiple layers without the help of some slick script? Why can I actually preview animations in real-time that I do in Premiere (video editing software) but not in After Effects. how about a fucking standard color swatch palette. ![]() This fucking program is so lame, that when intricate third party plugins are written for it, they need their own pop-up interface because AE can barely handle it internally and using it without the pop-up interface is a pain in the ass for us (Element 3D, Optical Flares, Newton, Particular, Form) How about folders for layers on your timeline (like Photoshop and Illustrator) instead of precomps so we don't have to move in and out of compositions all the god damn time. I'm on a beefy system and I'm still waiting on RAM previews for even the most elementary, non-complex 2D animations. I understand that this program is written on 1990's architecture but give me a fucking break. I've been using AE for 18 years now (since version 5) and I'm extremely disappointed with it's performance and lack of needed features to the point that there's an entire fucking industry around writing scripts, plugins, and now extensions (oh yay!) to fill in the holes this software has.
